Have A Question?

Q: What is the massage studio like?

A: Jennifer’s sunlit practice space is an ideal setting for the relaxing escape you seek. Step away from your daily demands with a 60-minute, 90-minute or 120-minute weekday massage. Jennifer’s Fremont Seattle office is centrally located in the Fremont Saturn Building across from PCC and the Fremont Rocket, just north of Lake Union and conveniently accessed from surrounding neighborhoods like Wallingford, Green Lake, Phinney Ridge, Queen Anne, Ballard, Laurelhurst, Magnolia, Montlake and Eastlake.

Q: What types of massage and bodywork do you offer?

A: When working with clients, Jennifer calls upon her unique blend of training in Swedish relaxation massage, structure-specific massage, cupping, hot stone therapy, myofascial release and topical C*B*D / CHABA application. Most sessions will include elements of several of these massage styles; Jennifer believes strongly in using all of the tools in her toolbelt to customize your therapeutic relaxation massage for your unique needs. She is also an experienced yoga instructor and leads yoga and myofascial roll+release / self massage sessions for those interested. You will have the opportunity to inquire with Jennifer about which of her offerings will be the best fit for you by visiting the Contact page.

Q: What protocols do you follow to prevent the spread of COVID-19 and other contagious illnesses? Do I still have to wear a mask?

Masking is now optional for all Sunbreak Massage, Roll+Release and Calming Private Yoga appointments. As we transition out of the required-masking phase, you are encouraged to remain intentional when deciding whether or not to wear your mask. What this looks like in practice: You may choose to bring your own mask to wear during your session. Jennifer has autoimmune conditions and will typically wear a mask during appointments, even if you choose not to do so. Please opt to wear a mask if you have any respiratory/allergy-type symptoms and/or if you have a sick family member at home. Your cooperation helps this local small business (and our entire Sunbreak community) remain happy, healthy and operational. Thank you! Jennifer also builds in extra time between appointments to properly ventilate the room as well as disinfect all equipment used during your session.

Q: I booked a massage—but now I have COVID-19 symptoms / a cold / the flu / another contagious condition. What’s your sick policy?

A: Receiving massage when you have a cold, the flu or another contagious condition not only spreads the illness to others, but it can also exacerbate and extend the duration of your symptoms. The likelihood of spreading an infection to your practitioner as well as other clients should be minimized to the best of your ability; when in doubt, contact Jennifer and ask if massage would be appropriate given your unique circumstance. But as a general rule, please refrain from coming to any appointments for at least three days after the resolution of all symptoms for viral/bacterial infections and until you have clearance from your doctor for any injuries and other contraindicated conditions. You always have up until 24 hours prior to the start of your session to cancel or reschedule online using the links in your appointment confirmation email; for last-minute schedule changes, please contact Jennifer directly by texting the message-only studio line at 805.996.0136.

Q: What if I want to enjoy the benefits of massage in the comfort of my own home?

Still social distancing and not ready for in-person services? (Or just want to avoid the hassle of Seattle traffic?) You can now learn to practice self massage with Wellround's unique kit, which includes specially designed yoga therapy balls that pair well with the virtual Roll+Release self-massage sessions Jennifer offers. Save on your Wellround kit by visiting https://livewellround.com and entering code SUNBREAK at checkout. To schedule your virtual Roll+Release sessions with Jennifer, please use the contact page to reach out and inquire.

Q: Can I make an appointment via text/email or over the phone?

No. In order to remain present for each of her clients, Jennifer is frequently in session with her phone silenced. Appointments are accepted online using the links on this website or in person during an existing appointment for return clients. Thank you!

Q: Do you accept insurance?

A: No. Sunbreak Massage is not in-network or contracted with any insurance companies. You may pay for your appointment using Venmo, credit card, cash or (provided you bring a copy of your massage prescription AND confirm your company's massage coverage beforehand) HSA and FSA cards.

Q: Any other studio policies I should know about?

A: Your health and safety is of the utmost importance. Clients are expected to fill out a complete health history and sign any relevant waivers and consent forms at least a full day PRIOR to arriving for their appointment. Failure to do so at least 24 hours before arrival will cut into your time on the massage table or yoga mat. Please fill out all paperwork online a minimum of 24 hours before your scheduled appointment. The new client waivers and health history form can be accessed here.

Sunbreak Massage is unable to offer refunds.

Please notify your practitioner immediately if you experience any pain or discomfort during your session, and adjustments will be made to assist you in navigating your experience.

Please shower before your session and refrain from wearing any synthetic fragrance, perfumes, colognes or other strong smells when you come in for your massage.

As a healthcare-oriented practice, Sunbreak Massage observes HIPAA law as well as all applicable state and federal laws and will take the appropriate measures to ensure your privacy and safety at all times.

Sunbreak Massage values your time, and the time of your practitioner and fellow clients. You always have up until 24 hours prior to the start of your session to cancel or reschedule online; last-minute notice of 24 hours or less will result in you owing the full session fee, which will either be charged in full to the credit card you used when booking, forfeited (for prepaid sessions; i.e. you lose that session) or due at the time of your missed appointment via Venmo or Square invoice. Prepaid clients who cancel with 24+ hours' notice may apply their prepaid credit toward their next session. Sunbreak Massage is unable to offer refunds. Please be punctual for your appointment. At practitioner’s discretion, late arrivals may receive the remaining session time on the massage table, but will still owe the full session fee for the amount of time originally reserved for their appointment. Sunbreak Massage also maintains an active waitlist for clients awaiting an appointment. Should you need to cancel, miss or reschedule your session, your advance notice allows another client to book into your spot. Thank you for your cooperation!

Q: I’m fairly active, fit and healthy overall. Why should I get a massage?

A: One major desire among Jennifer’s clients is to dissolve stress and muscle tension and feel better in their bodies. In today’s world, stress is pervasive and affects even those who otherwise feel healthy and fit. And, unfortunately, no amount of exercise can completely cancel out the effects of frequent sitting and/or screen time. You may find great benefit in balancing your time spent working, caring for family and pets, and enjoying hobbies + activities with restorative, effective massage sessions that help you dissolve stress, get out of your head and in touch with your body, and soothe and facilitate your body’s natural repair process for sore muscles and stuck fascia. Of course, the number one reason you should schedule a massage appointment with Jennifer is because you want to!

Q: I am dealing with chronic conditions or an old injury. Do you offer massage options for me, too?

A: Jennifer has extensive experience working with old injuries and chronic conditions; however, massage may be contraindicated in the case of a more recent, acute injury like a broken bone, dislocated joint, ligament sprain, muscle strain or tear, surgical incision, etc. When in doubt, please consult your primary healthcare provider (PCP, ND, MD, or another medical professional you trust) with questions regarding the appropriateness of massage for you and your individual body. Massage may be contraindicated for some chronic conditions, illnesses, injuries and/or stages of healing as well. You know your body best, and your primary healthcare provider can give you a diagnosis to help you determine if massage is right for you at this time. It is outside of a massage therapist’s scope of practice to diagnose; however, with your doctor’s diagnosis in hand, you may check with Jennifer to see which of her massage offerings might be the best fit for where you are currently in your healing journey.

Q: How much do you charge for a massage? And do you accept tips?

A: Currently, in her Seattle office, Jennifer’s fee for 60 minutes is $133; 90 minutes is $166; 120 minutes is $199. Gratuities are always welcome and appreciated. Payment is due prior to or during your appointment. Some clients choose to add a tip to their Venmo or credit card payment at the end of their session (or at the beginning so they can just relax post-massage); some prepay the gratuity and session fee while scheduling online; others bring cash for tipping; still others prefer to share their positive experience with family and friends through word-of-mouth referrals and/or with a glowing review on social media platforms such as Google Reviews or Facebook. Jennifer greatly appreciates your support, generosity, and referrals in addition to the opportunity to support you in taming muscle tension, dissolving stress and feeling better in your body.

Q: Okay, I’m ready to book a massage. How do I schedule my session?

A: Jennifer is currently seeing returning clients as well as accepting new clients on a limited basis by direct referral only. New clients: please be sure to have the person who referred you reach out to Jennifer directly to notify her of the referral before scheduling.
